If you know Fleur du Mal, you know we’d never say no to an intimate night in. But sometimes, the best foreplay is done in public.

We’re talking making eyes at each other across the rim of a cocktail glass, brushing legs under the table, letting a strap slip off your shoulder, and indulging in a lavish meal that whets your appetite for later. Why, what did you think we meant?

No matter how long you and your boo have been together, dressing up and stepping out is a surefire way to keep the spark ignited, and have a little cheeky fun while you’re at it. Grandmaster Recorders

The way to anyone’s heart is through a caviar cannoli, as proven by the culinary geniuses over at Grandmaster Recorders. Classic Italian cuisine is given a funky Australian-Californian remix at this former recording studio turned swanky dining destination, which has been serving up extra creative dishes to a cool crowd in Hollywood for a year now. Plush leather seating warms up the dramatic industrial space, while leafy trees entwine with red-painted steel beams. When opposites attract, magic happens – perhaps the same can be said for you and your paramour.

Death & Co.

The perfect precursor to what the French call “the little death,” would, of course, be a suggestive drink or two at Death & Co. The Downtown LA outpost of the cult-favorite New York cocktail club envelopes guests in its moody, underground atmosphere, casting shadows by candlelight amid its dark woods and curved booths. It’s as stylish a speakeasy as you can find that’s refreshingly free of any gimmicks. Lean in close and spill a secret or two over boozy concoctions called “Love Deluxe” and “Truthsayer.” If you’re in the market for some liquid courage, they’ve got you covered.

Bar Lis

The glamour of Old Hollywood meets the breezy spirit of the French Riviera high atop the Thompson Hotel. At Bar Lis, you and your co-star can channel your favorite movie star couple circa the 1960s, sans the time machine and ticket to Cannes. Slink back onto one of the candy-striped sofas to bask in the chic scene and gorgeous 360-degree terrace views that might even give the Côte d'Azur a run for its money. The weekends get rowdy (if you’re into that sort of thing), though you can always saunter in on a Tuesday for a more relaxed experience, complete with live jazz band.

Ka’Teen

If you really can’t swing a quick jaunt to Tulum for the weekend, sultry oasis Ka’Teen is the next best thing. Get lost in the lush jungle greenery of this sprawling Hollywood patio where #baecation vibes reign supreme. Between the twinkle lights, fire pits, and spicy fare hailing from the Yucatan, your evening is sure to heat up in the best way possible. And if you care to add some fuel to the fire? The sharp and smoky selection of mezcal and tequila cocktails should do the trick. Bottoms up!

Soulmate

As if its name wasn’t enough of a hint, West Hollywood haunt Soulmate was practically designed for date night. Picture this: a warm breeze brushing your cheek out on the secret garden patio, you and your lover locking eyes beneath a canopy of flora, the scent of a crackling fire wafting through the air. Let’s just say the atmosphere alone is enough to put you in the mood, but if that somehow doesn’t do it for you, the sizzling plates of Spanish-Mediterranean fare certainly will.
